Hi, so great to find this site! My Mother had a sweetheart from « Little Norway ». Unfortunately he was lost over England in 1941. I think they might have married if not for that. One of her friends did marry her Norwegian.

Great you commented Lauren on this Lauren. Writing about this was a way Clarence to preserve the past so people will learn about Little Norway. Enjoy! Pierre.

Hi again, I am looking for information about the pilot I mentioned above. His name was Elwood Norman Eriksen from Groruddalen, Oslo, Norway. He was killed on Sept. 28, 1941. If anyone reading these posts can help me to identify relatives who still live in Oslo, I would be very appreciative! I have the parents’ names and one brother, all deceased, but I believe there are grandchildren.
Also, if anyone can provide an email address for David Wold who has posted here about his parents, Ragnar & Margaret Wold? My Mother was best friends with Margaret Matchett Wold (who married her dashing Norwegian). I would like to get in touch with him, should he see this…. I live in Nova Scotia. Thank you.

I told him someone had commented on Little Norway.
        I will relate your message.

Bless you, Pierre Lagace, and thank you for relaying the message. We have been corresponding back & forth furiously as he is helping me a great deal. It is also very nice to be in touch with an old family friend (or our parents were)! Tell me, what brings you to be doing this? I wish I had known about this website many years ago when my Mother was alive…they had a cottage at Black Lake in Muskoka and the family entertained the Norwegian lads there often, which is I suppose where she met Eriksen. Would you be interested in me posting some photos, at some point, when I get it all together? I wish I could have travelled to the commemoration last year. Guess I should be posting this on the above ‘reply’. Sorry.
